Kiwi Survivor Stories

Picture
We have just added a new section to our website: Kiwi Survivor Stories.

From June 2018, we are collecting - in complete confidence - stories from the 1 in 6 Kiwi males who experience sexual abuse.

We are letting these guys tell their stories unedited, in their own words.

Our goal here is to achieve two things:
  1. Give Kiwi male sexual abuse survivors an anonymous nationwide platform to share the scale and reality of their experiences
  2. To help people appreciate in a dynamic way, what it's like to be one of the 1 in 6 New Zealand males who experience sexual abuse.

If you want to share your story - we want to hear it, and share it with New Zealand on our website.

Tell us your story in complete confidence; you will never be identified in any way.

MOSAIC Now A Part of SWAG

Picture
Wellington Police have set up a working group with local support agencies to help spread the message that sexual assault complaints from sex workers will be taken seriously.

That group is the Sex Workers Advisory Group (SWAG). To see the Stuff article and video on SWAG, click here.

Counsellor Recruitment

Picture
Up until now, MOSAIC has been a purely Peer-Support facilitated service. We're thrilled to share that we will also now be offering a clinical counselling service.

This service will comprise both male and female counsellors. So far we have 4 counsellors available. Please get in touch with us if you would like to meet with one of our counsellors.

If you are a counsellor and would like to know more about working with MOSAIC, jump over to our Vacancies page.

We Now Have A Strong Volunteer Team!

Picture
After a vigorous recruitment drive, we have a great Crisis Support team. Our Crisis Support Volunteers will be working in our Wellington office and assisting us with the front-line management of our Confidential Listening Service.

Our Crisis Support team members go through a comprehensive 5-week in-house training programme. All our crew also attend the 'Dealing with Disclosures' workshop run by our friends at the Sexual Abuse Prevention Network (SAPN). Anyone can sign-up for our free training - just get in touch.

We also have fantastic volunteers assisting us with Treasurer, Marketing, Graphic Design and IT needs. Thanks Guys! We''l be introducing these key people to you all soon.

MOSAIC's Growing!

Picture
We are really pleased to announce that we have opened a MOSAIC office in Porirua. We've hired a fantastic Pasifika Peer Support worker for the role. This is an exciting development for our service.

We're equally thrilled to announce that we also now have a MOSAIC service operating in Masterton. A huge thanks to funding from Lotteries who have made this possible for us! If you have any enquiries about our service in Porirua or the Wairarapa, please contact us.
